When importing live animals like Betta fish, a licensed specialist known as a Transhipper is required by law in most countries. They are an essential partner in ensuring your fish arrives to you safely and legally.
What is a Transhipper?
Think of a Transhipper as your official, local import partner in your country. They are professionals who specialize in:
Receiving live animal shipments at the airport.
Handling all complex customs and import regulations.
Arranging for any legally required quarantine periods.
Ensuring the final, safe delivery from the airport to your address.
Why is a Transhipper Necessary?
The import process for live animals involves strict regulations designed to protect local ecosystems and ensure animal welfare. Transhippers are licensed and have the expertise to navigate these rules—a task that cannot be handled directly by the sender (Virajes Betta) or the receiver (the customer).
Important to Note:
Transhippers are independent, licensed businesses in their respective countries. They are not employees of Virajes Betta, but they are vital partners in the international shipping chain. Using a transhipper service is the standard and most secure method in the international ornamental fish trade.
For full transparency, it’s important to understand that the total cost to get your fish to your address involves two separate payments made to two different parties.
This is the amount you pay to Virajes Betta. This payment covers:
The Price of Your Selected Fish: The cost of the fish itself.
Shipping fee: This includes all costs for professional packing, handling, and freight to export the fish from Indonesia to your country.
After your fish arrives in your country, the Transhipper will contact you to arrange the final delivery. You will pay for their services directly to them. This payment is separate from what you paid to Virajes Betta.

We can provide you with a trusted transhipper in your country who cooperates with our local transhipper in Indonesia. Please provide your shipping address, and we will gladly share their contact information.

Our guarantee covers the cost of the fish only; shipping fees are non-refundable.
To qualify for the guarantee, you must follow these instructions:
If a fish arrives sick or dead, please send an unboxing video or a photo of the unopened bag showing the condition of the fish. This must be done within two hours of delivery.
Email the video/photo to virajestic@gmail.com.
The guarantee is void if the bag is opened.
If the guarantee is valid, we can offer one of two options:
Replacement Fish: We will send a replacement fish with the transhipper on the next available shipment. You will be responsible for paying the domestic shipping cost again. This replacement is a one-time offer per incident. If the replacement fish also arrives dead, it is not covered by the guarantee.
Refund: We will issue a refund for the cost of the fish.
Please note that once the fish is out of the bag, our guarantee is void. We cannot be held responsible for the fish’s well-being after that point, as its health depends on factors like water conditions, temperature, and proper acclimation to its new environment.
All Sales Are Final. No Cancellations.
Any canceled order will be refunded with an in-store voucher, minus a 25% restocking fee. This fee helps cover the care of the fish that could have been sold to another customer. Please be sure you are ready to receive the fish and agree to all transhipper fees before placing your order.
Holds
We will hold your fish until the next scheduled shipping date.
Communication
All communication will be conducted through one of the contact methods provided on our Contact page: WhatsApp, Telegram, or WeChat. To avoid any confusion, please use only one of these channels for all your correspondence with us.
It is your responsibility to check for updates, particularly for order confirmations or shipping notifications. If you do not receive a response, please reach out to us again through your chosen platform to ensure we have received your message.
Marbling & Color Change
All bettas, except for solid colors, have the marble gene. This includes variations like Koi, Blacklight, Avatar, Fancy, Multicolor, and others. Please be aware that the color of marble bettas still can change slowly or quickly. We are not responsible for any color changes that occur after the betta has been photographed.
However, if an exceptional color change occurs the day before shipping, we will try to contact you. If we do not receive a response before shipping, the fish will be sent as is.
Fin Chewing
Long-finned bettas may chew on their fins during transit. We are not responsible for any fin damage that happens while the fish is in transit. If fin chewing occurs before shipping, we will contact you and offer the option to receive the current fish or choose a replacement.
Quarantine
We quarantine our fish before shipping and treat them to ensure they are healthy and bacteria-free. However, you are responsible for quarantining any new fish from any source before adding them to your main aquarium.
Betta Care
It is your responsibility to research and provide a proper environment for your betta, including a clean and, if necessary, heated aquarium. We are not responsible for any neglect or improper care. Our bettas are selectively bred and can be more sensitive than those from large chain stores.
When adding a large number of fish, such as for a betta sorority, be mindful of your aquarium’s nitrogen cycle. You may need to increase water changes to maintain water quality. We recommend using a quality bacteria starter like Fritz Turbo Start to help cycle your tank quickly.
We feed our fish a diet of pellets and sometimes live food like daphnia or artemia. Your betta may need an adjustment period before it recognizes new foods like flakes or different pellets. We recommend a varied, high-quality diet and advise you to avoid low-quality foods with high filler.
No Returns
We do not accept returns on fish.
Cancellations
Any canceled order will receive a full refund via in-store voucher, minus a 25% restocking fee. This fee helps cover the care of the fish that could have been sold to another customer. Please ensure you are ready to receive the fish and agree to all transhipper fees before placing your order.
